CREATIVE RECYCLING -
WORKS AND WORKSHOPS
MOSAIC CLASSES
FOR KIDS
Mosaics are made of small, flat pieces of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae.
OBJECTS
FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS
Cardboard, glue, plastic bottlecaps... Choose your own materials for a functional or decorative piece of furniture.
PAPIER MACHE WORKSHOP WITH KIDS
Papier mache is still used today in scenery for trees, rocks, dragons... We made some watermelons.
INDUSTRIAL SCULPTURE
From a bunch of metal junk to an art piece. The process involves improvisation and letting go of unnecessary form elements.
PAINTED WOOD
Small artifacts and the study of ornament. A story of colour and geometry and the rich history of painted wood.
TEXTILE WASTE
RECYCLING
Tell what you can't do with textiles.
Kids enjoying scissors, glue and pieces of felt for christmas tree decoration.
BUILDING WASTE
RECYCLING
A porcelain unicorn, some broken mosaique and cement make a not-so-pink fairy-tale character. Even more charming.
TEXTILE WASTE
AGAIN
Leftovers from a pillow and thread. Toy story for the Urban Gifts Shop
CEMENT WASTE

Remains of coloured glass and cement for a small support to put your coffee on. Or your sculpture.

Recycling and eco-design has become a sort of personal mission for three reasons. First it saved me time, space and money, which is ok, second: it can be playful, when it's not a life-saving against-time activity, third: it saves energy and environment.
How?
I had to bring to life a space filled with my things: some of them too heavy, some of them too many, others useless or rarely used.
The space: not a typical one. Very low ceiling, sharp/dark angles, low light. in that equation i had to move-work-live- and fast. the only means to do that was by swapping functions and materials and by rethinking some old dis/functional patterns.

Until now i have used my artisan experience in a few workshops re-using paper, wood, textiles, plastic, wire. In small groups we have learned to do mosaic works with soft tesserae, papier-mache technique, small art instalations or artifacts from recycled materials. See a few samples.
